Candling is a natural ear healing technique that began centuries ago, possibly in Egypt and one which traveled throughout Asia and Europe. It is a safe, painless and very effective treatment that is also considered to be one of the most soothing natural therapies.

What is it used for?
Individuals have reported relief from a wide assortment of problems from Tinnitus (ringing in the ears) to chronic sinus infections. This remedy, used in conjunction with Western Health care, can also be used for swimmer’s ear, sore throats, hearing impairment due to wax build-up, allergies, chronic headaches, earaches, colds and sinus pressure.

How Does Candling Work?
A cone shaped candle bout 10-12 inches long is used for most sessions. A hollow candle is made of muslin fabric that has been soaked in an aromatic herbal solution, dried and then dipped into beeswax.

The client lies on their side with their hair, neck, shoulder and face protected with a fire retardant barrier drape. The Candle is held in place with a plate which also collects any dripping from the candle.

The lighted hollow candle, inserted slightly in the ear canal, creates a slow vacuum which aids and assists in softening and pulling any waxy build-up in the ear into the base of the candle. A light lymphatic massage is performed to the ear, eye, and neck and shoulder area during the session.

Who uses Ear Candling?
The typical Candling client is one searching for a more “natural” way to alleviate pressure in their head or upper respiratory area of they may be in search of relief from pain in their children’s ears, or they may wish to hear, smell, or just “plain” feel better.

Ear Candling is not for those
Who have had recent ear, nose, and throat or sinus surgery; have vent tubes in their ears or experience any kind of bleeding from the ears.
